Meet the institution that provides ACNA with spiritual guidance, scholarship and intellectual support.
OUR SPIRITUAL & INTELLECTUAL HOME
ACNA’s spiritual and intellectual home is Jamia Arifia, one of the foremost Sufi institutions in the Indian Subcontinent. ACNA is the international branch of this Islamic educational institution belonging to the Chishtiya-Nizamia order.
Jamia Arifia bridges spirituality and intellectuality, orthodoxy and modernity, divine love and contemporary world affairs.
Jamia Arifia is a traditional madrasa with an extensive curriculum that includes Dars-e-Nizami and awards Alimiyat and Fazilat degrees. Alongside traditional Islamic subjects, students study modern subjects including science, mathematics, Hindi and English language and literature.
Founded by Daiye Islam Sheikh Abu Saeed Ehsanullah Safawi in 1993, Jamia Arifia is among the few affiliates of Al-Azhar University outside Egypt. It operates under the Khanqah-e-Arifia Welfare Society of Shah Safi Memorial Trust.
The institution is located at Khanqah Arifia in the village of Saiyed Sarawan, Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, approximately 23 kilometres from Allahabad.
JAMIA ARIFIA & ACNA
Jamia Arifia’s distinguished faculty, including several PhD scholars, serves ACNA’s academic activities. Miyan Huzoor Abu Saeed Sain is ACNA’s Patron-in-Chief and spiritual guide. The faculty provides direction to the Council, contributes actively to its social media channels and forms its intellectual backbone.
ACNA’s Imam, Maulana Ali Saeed, and Imam Designate, Mufti Imamuddin Saeedi, are both Alim Fazil graduates of Jamia Arifia.
